Bio

Jiří Chytil is a whistleblower who claims to have provided hundreds of pages of documents to the investigation of the corruption scheme behind Prague’s Opencard, a huge case involving CZK one billion, proving that the public contract was rigged.
He was charged and later also sentenced to imprisonment for 18 months because as manager, he did not enforce the contractual penalties for delayed completion of the Prague parking meters system which was part of the Opencard project. Mr Chytil appealed to the Supreme Court in Brno where he seeks reversal of the verdict.
In 2013, he received the Prize for Courage from the Anticorruption Endowment.
